Each team must make a team banner for our Mid-Season Celebration, and there will be prizes awarded for the best banners! Our Celebrity Judges will review them and choose the most outstanding ones. These will be hung on the fence during the Celebration/Judging (which most teams also do during games).
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR BANNER HAS GROMMETS IN EACH CORNER SO IT CAN BE HUNG UP ON THE FENCES!
Prize options for the winning banners:
- Pizza party (at a restaurant or residence of the team's choice, or at P3)
- A team outing to a Brooklyn Cyclones game
- A team outing to a Staten Island Ferryhawks game
We will award winners from the following categories:
-Tee Ball (coed)
-Junior Minors baseball/softball (coed)
-Minors Baseball/Softball (coed)
-Majors Baseball/AAA/Softball Majors (coed)
They can be as simple or as elaborate as you want, made of any material -- the range is spray paint on bed sheets to professionally printed. But be forewarned…the homemade banners usually win the contest!
A good measurement is 3’x5’ -ish.
Please be sure to include the following on your banner:
- "GVLL [year] [division]"
- Team name
- Sponsor name (same as back of jersey)
- All kids should sign it !! - A good option is to use soup/cereal bowls to trace out baseballs and have each kid sign their name and uni # in each ball
