WHAT IS THE LITTLE LEAGUE WORLD SERIES TOURNAMENT (LLWST) TEAM?
Each year, GVLL selects an All-Star team from our league to compete against other Little Leagues. It starts with the District level (Manhattan), then the Sectional (NYC), then NY State, then Metro Region (NY, NJ, CT, RI). Then finally the televised event in Williamsport, PA between all the US regional winners and the international winners.

LLWST Team Tryouts
Open tryouts will be held near the end of the Spring Season for the Little League World Series Tournament (LLWST) team. Participation in ACEs does not guarantee selection for the LLWST team. A registration sign-up on TeamSnap will be shared with all eligible GVLL players. Once the teams are selected, a coach, manager, or team admin. will contact all players who tried out to let them know if they are on the roster or not.
Practices: We'll start practices soon after the tryouts; working around the Little League playoffs and travel conflicts, with the goal of getting the maximum amount of practice time before the tournament starts. They will ramp up in frequency after the little league playoffs end.
- Districts normally run from the last week of June through July 4th weekend (or just beyond). If we win the district...
- Sectionals should take place the following weekend/into the next week (~July 12-16 or so).
- States, Regionals, and Williamsport will likely be mid-week through the weekend following each prior round (should we advance).
If your player is going to summer camp after school ends, this team is not an option. It will require you to be available at least through mid-July.
While the time commitment is substantial, the rewards are as well. GVLL is the defending District champion, and those who have done this before can tell you what a memorable experience it's been for the players and families alike.
