BASEBALL: T-BALL
Official Spring Schedules and practice/game time and locations are included below and dependent on GVLL getting the same permits as last Spring, therefore subject to change.
- Each team has parent volunteer manager, head coach and 2 assistant coaches. In addition, we plan to have 2 professional (P3) coaches rotating around helping with concurrent practices and games.
- Teams are built based on requests (former teammates and/or friends) and players are generally grouped together with kids from the same schools. While every attempt is made to put friends together, requests can’t always be honored.
- Parent supervised, recreational, learning and fun.
- Children hit from T-ball stand with coach pitch for those who are ready as season progresses.
- Schedule: Meets Sunday mornings for 90 minutes (including 45 minutes of practice/drills and a 45 minute game). Games are on Sunday mornings on the Pier 40 rooftop level as well as on the Pier 40 Courtyard.
- First year players must upload birth certificate and proof of residency during on-line registration.
BASEBALL: JUNIOR MINORS

- Each team has parent volunteer manager, head coach and 2 assistant coaches. Coaches pitch in this division. On practice days, teams will rotate/share bi-monthly practice/clinics with professional (P3) coaches.
- Teams are built based on requests (former teammates and/or friends) and players are generally grouped together with kids from the same schools. While every attempt is made to put friends together, requests can’t always be honored.
- Parent supervised, Games are recreational with an emphasis on, learning and fun.
- Schedule: 1 game/week (90 - 120 minutes) on Sundays. Practices on Saturdays for 1 to 2 hours.
BASEBALL: MINORS

- Each team has a parent volunteer manager, head coach and 2 assistant coaches.
- Teams are built based on both assessments and requests to play with former teammates and/or friends. While every attempt is made to put friends together, requests can’t always be honored if a team is full or if honoring the request results in a team that is not competitively balanced.
- No stealing in the Minors Division.
- P3 coaches will rotate and visit practices
- Players (not coaches) pitch and catch in the Minors Division.
- Pitching and catching clinics early in season run by the P3 coaches.
- No standings kept in regular Minors division
- Professional umpires or umpires who are trained, at least 14 years old and former GVLL players will be used.
- Schedule: 1 game/week (90 - 120 minutes) on Saturday. Practices on Sunday for 1 to 2 hours. Hoping to be able to add 1 Divisional Practice (90 minutes to 2 hours) during the week but this will be dependent on field space. P3 clinics will also be offered on off days – schedule TBD.
BASEBALL: AAA

- Each team has a parent volunteer manager, head coach and 2 assistant coaches.
- The AAA Minors division is a competitive division and teams are selected via a tryout and draft. In order to be considered for AAA, (or the Majors), players will need to come to the tryout which is held on 1/29/23.
- Players that ask to be considered for AAA, cannot be ask to be moved to another team/division to be with their friends. If players do not want to play in either AAA or the Majors, the tryout is optional and they are free to play in the Minors where friend requests are considered during team assignments. Likewise, if they are not selected in either Draft they will be assigned to the Minors.
- AAA players may have the opportunity to be called up to Majors games when needed on a volunteer basis.
- P3 coaches will rotate and visit practices
- Players (not coaches) pitch and catch
- Pitching and catching clinics early in season run by the P3 coaches.
- AAA division will keep standings but there will be no playoffs or post-season.
- Professional umpires or umpires who are trained, at least 14 years old and former GVLL players will be used.
- Schedule: 1 Team Practice and 2 Games. Schedule will be Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Clinics and Divisional practices will also be offered and run by P3 on off days.

BASEBALL: MAJORS
Official Spring Schedules and practice/game time and locations are included below and dependent on GVLL getting the same permits as last Spring, therefore subject to change.
- Each team has a volunteer manager, head coach and 2 assistant coaches.
- Players that ask to be considered for Majors, cannot ask to be moved to another team/division to be with their friends. If players do not want to play in either AAA or the Majors, the tryout is optional and they are free to play in the Minors where friend requests are considered during team assignments. Likewise, if they are not selected in either Draft they will be assigned to the Minors.
- Returning players must also try out. Previous baseball experience is highly recommended.
- Teams are drafted by the league's coaching staff based on tryout scores and assessments from the previous season’s managers and P3 coaches.
- Advanced play using a competitive game framework and age-appropriate Little League playing rules.
- General rules include stealing (no leadoffs) and infield fly rule. To avoid injuries, we monitor pitch counts and use of catchers in all games.
- Indoor practices throughout season run by Pier 40/P3 baseball and team coaches. Pitching and catching clinics pre-season run by the P3 coaches.
- Participation in Majors requires a high level of commitment and NO major conflicts of any kind.
- Playoff and Championship games will take place in early to mid-June, attendance at these games is mandatory.
- Bats: Approved Little League of America bats only.
- Schedule: 1 Team Practice and 2 Games. Schedule will be Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Clinics and Divisional practices will also be offered and run by P3 on off days.

BASEBALL: JUNIORS

- Each team has volunteer manager, head coach and 2 assistant coaches.
- 2 games on Saturday and/or Sundays with travel (fields include Central Park, Murry Bergtraum Field, Randall’s Island and Pier 40).
- Practices begin in March, season begins in April and runs thru mid/late June.

- Schedule: 1 practice a week at Pier 40 on Tuesday, and 1 game per weekend either at Pier 40, Central Park, or Randall Island.
BASEBALL: SENIORS
Official Spring Schedules and practice/game time and locations are included below and dependent on GVLL getting the same permits as last Spring, therefore subject to change
- Wood bats only, 2 1/2 inch barrel.
- Each team has volunteer manager, head coach and 2 assistant coaches.
- Practices begin in March, Season begins in April and runs thru mid/late June.
- Schedule: 1 practice a week at Pier 40 on Tuesday, and 1 game per weekend either at Pier 40, Central Park, or Randall Island.
CHALLENGER DIVISION
- Boys and girls with physical and/or developmental challenges age 4-18 (up to age 22 if still enrolled in school).
- No previous experience necessary.
- Games are developmentally appropriate with an emphasis on fun and teamwork.
- Schedule: 1 game per week on Saturdays from late April through June at Battery Park City Ball Fields.
SOFTBALL: T-BALL

- No previous softball experience necessary.
- Teams are built based on requests (former teammates and/or friends) and players are generally grouped together with kids from the same schools. While every attempt is made to put friends together, not all requests can be met.
- Girls hit from T-ball stand with introduction later in the season to underhand pitching by a coach.
- Girls are introduced to the general rules of softball.
- Schedule: Meets Sunday mornings for 90 minutes (including 45 minutes of practice/drills and a 45-minute game). Tee Ball meets Sunday mornings on Pier 40.
- First year players must upload birth certificate and proof of residency during on-line registration.
SOFTBALL: JUNIOR MINORS

- Practices on Pier 40 Saturday afternoon and games are on Pier 40 on Sunday mornings.
- Each team has 1 practice and 1 game weekly.
SOFTBALL: MINORS

- No previous softball experience necessary.
- Girls are introduced to many of the rules that are unique to Little League Softball, including windmill pitching.
- Teams are built based on requests (former teammates and/or friends) and players are generally grouped together with kids from the same schools. While every attempt is made, not all requests can be met.
- Schedule:
- Each team has 1 practice and 1 game weekly.
- Interleague schedule with weekly games against other NYC little league teams either on GVLL fields or opposing teams field.
SOFTBALL: MAJORS
Official Spring Schedules and practice/game time and locations are included below and dependent on GVLL getting the same permits as last Spring, therefore subject to change.
- Some softball experience recommended.
- More competitive softball, but still instructional in nature.
- Schedule:
- Interleague schedule with weekly games against other NYC little league teams either on GVLL fields or opposing teams field.
- Practices on Pier 40 or Chelsea Park on Saturdays or JJ Walker on Wednesdays. Games are on Sunday at JJ Walker and other NYC fields.
- Each team has 1 practice and 1 game weekly
SOFTBALL: JUNIORS

Interleague schedule with weekly games against other NYC little league teams either on GVLL fields or opposing teams field.
Practices either on Pier 40 or Chelsea Park on Saturdays or JJ Walker Wednesdays. Games are on Sunday at JJ Walker and other NYC fields.
Each team has 1 practice and 1 game weekly.
