GVLL COVID-19 Update

We are all closely following the news of Coronavirus and recommendations to limit non essential gatherings. In keeping safety as our number one priority, GVLL has decided to suspend all official preseason activities, including indoor and outdoor practices, though the month of March, at which point we will reassess.

Effective immediately, all P3 activities for GVLL will be suspended including individual team practices, the pitchers and catchers clinics on Fridays, and the winter workouts on Sunday. GVLL will also postpone the GVLL coaching clinic this Saturday and will also postpone the GVLL Travel team games at the end of March.

In keeping with an abundance of caution,Greenwich Village Little League is canceling Opening Day on April 4th. We expect that the prohibition of non-essential events of 500 people or more will remain in effect on that date and want to give parents and volunteers ample time to adjust schedules.

We also do not anticipate games to be scheduled on the weekend of April 4th as Little League of America has recommended that all league activities be suspended through April 6th.

GVLL is in active dialogue with HRPT & Parks Department, NYC Elected Officials, and Little League of America for guidance towards a safe and sensible start to our season. We will keep you posted with updates.
