GVLL U10 and U12 LLWS Baseball Teams Win District 23!

Families -

I'm sooooo proud of our little league!

Our U10 and U12 LLWS Baseball Teams have won the District. That means, over the past two weeks, they've battled all the other little leagues in Manhattan which include; Downtown Little League, Peter Stuy Little League, West Side Little League, Harlem Little League, Inwood Little League, OLS Little League, North Riverdale Little League, South Riverdale Little League,...and came out on top. Both teams went 4 and 0! This is remarkable!!!

This is the 3rd year in a row that we won the U10 D23 Championship. Prior to that, we hadn't won in over a decade. But we are on a roll now. Special thanks to this year's coaches: Rob Vollero, Adam Buchwald, and Ray Kolb for leading the charge.

And to this amazing group of ballers:

Ben Schechter, Brady Vollero, Cliff Storm, Dylan Brass, Ezzy Buchwald, Javier Cortes, Julian Carucci, Leo Gottlieb, Luca Lah, Lucas Muniz, Miles Taliaferro-Riddick, Milo Giannone, Oliver Areson, and Philip Levine.

And this is the 2nd year in a row that we won the U12 D23 Championship. We had never won the 12u district in our 40 year history before last year...and now we've won 2 in a row! These kids are setting records. Thanks to Dan Zaret, Matt Diaz, and Donny Furst...for their leadership over the past three years. You guys are true pros!

And congrats to these boys, many who have played for the past three years, and helped represent AND take home these wins. It makes me very sad that the majority of these kids are finished with their little league careers, but I know they will be playing baseball for many, many years to come - and that makes me so very happy - and grateful to have been along for a portion of their ride.
