AAA & Majors Baseball Tryouts are February 2

AAA & MAJORS TRYOUTS FAQs

How do I sign up for a tryout time? A sign up sheet where you can select a specific time will be emailed to all players registered for Majors or AAA. If received a confirmation email about your registration for Majors or AAA, then you will also get the sign up sheet. Sometimes we don't send the sign up sheet until the week before. But it's coming!
What's the difference between AAA and Majors?
Majors is our most competitive division. All U12s will play in Majors. U11s and U10s can tryout for Majors. AAA is the more competitive subset of Minors. U11s, U10s, and U9s can tryout for AAA. (Click here for a reminder of where your player falls on the baseball age chart).

How does the tryout work?
Your child will come to the tryout on 2/2. They will take part in small group hitting, fielding, pitching, and catching. The tryout is run by P3 coaches and observed by AAA and Majors team managers. The purpose of the tryout is for the managers to see the kids, and for the kids to get rated by the P3 coaches. Please note that the coaches running the tryout know most of these kids and their skill level and will take this into account when given the kids their ratings.

How are teams assigned?
Two weeks after the tryout, there will be a Majors draft. All U12s will get drafted in the Majors. And then the U11s and U10s will get drafted based on how they did in the tryout.  A good number of U11s usually end up in Majors, and a handful of U10s end up in the Majors.

Once the majors draft is over, the AAA managers will draft from the remaining U11, U10 and U9s who are left.  All U11s who did not get drafted to a Majors team will be drafted onto a AAA team.

The 10U and 9U players who are not drafted into AAA will be placed on a Minors team.

When do I find out my team and division information?
We expect to share team information before the end of February (about a month prior to the season starting). The goal of the tryout and both drafts it to ensure balanced, even teams.

Can my player be on a team with their friends?
In order to ensure balanced and fair teams, we do not allow friend requests in the AAA or Majors divisions. If your player ends up in Minors, we will honor their friend requests.
